WMS Cookbook: The WMS is still gathering recipes for our newest church cookbook--we have extended the deadline through August--Please, Please, share your best with us--5 recipes if possible-see Saundra Scott Boswell or you may drop them off at the office. Thank you. The form can be found on the information table in the Narthex or emailed to you in a pdf format (please contact the church office). Looking forward to trying some of them!!
The Allie Gordon Missionary Unit will have its planning meeting on September 14, 2010 at 11:30 am.
The Pulpit Ministry is seeking members. The purpose of the Pulpit Ministry is to serve our Pastor and First family through prayers, financial support and encouraging words and deeds. If you are interested, please contact Sis. Madeline Fults at 851-4796.
The Virginia Conference Lay Fall Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Third St. Bethel A.M.E. Church. Please see Sister Joan Wilson if you are interested in attending.
School Supplies: In an effort to assist those students in need of school supplies, the YPD will have a container in the Narthex August 1, 2010—September 5, 2010. Please be generous. Remember: By the grace of God it could be you.
Free Tax Service Extended: The Bethel A.M.E. Volunteer Tax Team will continue providing FREE IRS and State Tax Return Preparation by appointment only until Oct 15, 2010. We will prepare 2009 tax returns as well as prior year 2008 or 2007 returns for taxpayers still needing this service. The Men’s Day Committee: will meet every Tuesday’s @ 7 pm. until Men’s Day, September 19, 2010.
DRIVERS NEEDED: Bethel AME Church urgently needs additional 15- passenger van, and 24-passenger bus drivers. A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required to drive the 24-passenger bus. The church will reimburse you for the extra charge for your CDL license. Persons interested in working with this very important ministry should contact brothers David Boswell or Isaac Taylor. Brothers Boswell and Taylor will assist in preparing you to take and successful pass the CDL test.
Media-Tape Ministry: The Media Ministry provides technical support and recording services for programs/services at the church. We provide copies of services/programs on CD and cassette. We also produce the Pastor’s weekly radio broadcast, “The Truth in Love.” We need assistance not only with recording and audio support, but with cataloguing, recordings, duplication and distribution services. If you are willing to help by devoting a few hours to this ministry each month or maybe if you have an interest in learning about audio or production, we would love to have you join our team. Please contact Sis. Yolanda Hinton at 898-1221 or Bro. Leroy Watkins at 726-0707. Also, if any member or friend would like to obtain a copy of our Sunday service sermons please contact Bro. Watkins, or Sis. Hinton.
